Highpoint is excited to announce its first-ever summer camp programs, designed to introduce young artists to the world of printmaking! Offered in three age-specific series, these camps will encourage creative exploration through various printmaking techniques, including monotypes, relief, drypoint, and screen printing.
Print Explorers (5-8 years) Our youngest artists experiment with different monotype methods in a fun and interactive environment.
Print Creators (9-13 years) A deeper dive into the craft of print for elementary and pre-teens, learning more intricate processes like relief and drypoint.
Print Innovators (14-18 years) Teens can push their skills further and create a portfolio of unique works using a variety of printmaking methods.
Family Workshops Highpoint is offering Saturday family sessions, open to all ages (accompanied by an adult), so families can explore printmaking together. Techniques covered throughout all workshops will include monotypes, relief, drypoint, and screen printing.

Saturdays, 9-11 am
Price: $12 per participant
Join Highpoint on Saturday mornings for family-friendly printmaking workshops designed for artists of all ages! Each two-hour session will introduce a fun and accessible printmaking technique, allowing families to create art together. You will explore different methods of making prints while experimenting with color, texture, and composition. No prior experience is needed. Just be sure to bring a sense of creativity and a willingness to play with ink and paper!
These workshops are a great way to connect and collaborate. Plus, you get to take home some really awesome prints!

In this workshop, you’ll create textured printing plates using a variety of materials; then ink and press them to make beautifully patterned prints. We’ll explore layers, textures, and color to design repeating patterns or abstract compositions.

This workshop is inspired by the Japanese printmaking technique called Gyotaku. You will print with rubber sea creatures to capture detailed textures, then design a colorful underwater background, bringing your ocean scenes to life!

These printmaking workshops will introduce young artists to a variety of monotype printmaking techniques. Each session will encourage play and experimentation. Techniques explored include: collagraph, relief, water soluble monotype, stencil monotype, and lego printing.

This workshop is all about color! Campers will experiment with color mixing, layering, and contrast to create bold, vibrant prints. We will talk about color theory basics like primary, secondary, and tertiary colors; complementary and analogous color schemes; and discuss how color choices affect mood, movement and storytelling in artwork.
